How reviews work
Every review on Snaggable comes from a buyer who hired that provider through Snaggable. We publish negative reviews too.
Only verified hires
- Only the buyer who hired a provider through Snaggable can review it, once per project. Each review is marked Verified hire.
- We ask for a review around the end date in the provider's quote, or when the buyer marks the project completed.
- Reviews include an overall rating, whether the work was delivered on time and on budget, quality, communication, value, whether they'd hire again, and a written review.
What we check before publishing
Our team reads every review before it's published. We only reject a review if it breaks these rules:
- abusive, threatening or discriminatory language;
- personal details (phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses);
- content that isn't about the project or the provider's work;
- spam, or a conflict of interest (for example a review from the provider's own staff).
We never reject or hide a review because it's negative. A rating doesn't decide whether a review is published; only these rules do.
Critical reviews: a chance to respond first
When a review gives 2 stars or less, or says the work was delivered very late or not at all, we share the written review privately with the provider before publishing it:
- The provider has 7 days to post a response and, if they can, to resolve the problem with the buyer.
- During that time, the buyer may update their review if things were put right. They don't have to.
- After 7 days the review is published either way, with the provider's response shown underneath.
The buyer's private note to our team and their contact details are never shared with the provider.
Responses and disputes
- Providers can reply publicly once to each review.
- If a provider believes a review is false, they can dispute it with evidence. The review stays visible while we check; we remove it only if it's clearly false or breaks the rules above.
Quality standards for providers
One critical review can happen to good providers. We act on patterns over the last 12 months, together with problem reports we've reviewed:
| Within 12 months | What happens |
|---|---|
| 2 verified reviews of 2★ or less, or 1 saying the work wasn't delivered | A formal warning by email |
| 3 such reviews, 2 "not delivered", or an upheld problem report | Suspension from receiving projects while we review; badges removed |
| Continued problems after a suspension, or fraud | Removal from Snaggable |
These are guidelines: our team looks at the reviews, the provider's responses and any reports before deciding, and explains every decision to the provider by email.
Ratings on profiles
Profiles show the average rating, the number of verified reviews and the share of projects delivered on time. Companies with more and better verified reviews appear higher in "Recommended" listings. Ratings can't be bought, and Pro providers are reviewed by the same rules.
